Privacy Policy
Last updated: in effect during the WUZZR beta
This policy explains how Wuzzr ("Wuzzr", "we", "us") processes personal data when you use our travel-planning website. We process personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
The data controller is the operator of WUZZR.
Contact details for privacy matters will be published here once they are available.
An EU/EEA representative pursuant to Art. 27 GDPR and a data protection officer will be listed here if and when one is appointed.
2. Data we process
Account data: email address, authentication credentials handled by our authentication provider, and two-factor authentication settings.
Trip data: passports and residence permits you select, destinations, travel dates, itineraries, transport and budget preferences, and saved trips.
Technical data: device, browser and language settings, and local storage used for offline access and preferences.
We do not ask for special-category data. Information about vaccinations you enter is stored only to display travel-health guidance you requested.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Providing the service and your account (contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); keeping the service secure and preventing abuse (legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); complying with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); optional features such as analytics or marketing, if introduced, only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
4. Third-party providers
Travel information, prices and availability may be retrieved from external providers. When you follow a booking or ticket link, that provider processes your data under its own privacy policy.
We use service providers for hosting, database, authentication and related infrastructure. A current list of processors will be published here once it is finalised. They act as processors on our instructions under data-processing agreements.
5. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the Swiss addendum, together with appropriate supplementary measures. Further details will be added here once they are confirmed.
6. Retention
Account and trip data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after account deletion, unless longer retention is legally required. Data stored on your device (offline itineraries, preferences) stays until you clear it.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary storage for sign-in sessions, language, theme and offline trip access. Any non-essential cookies would only be set with your consent.
8. Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact details for exercising these rights will be published here once they are available.
You may lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EEA, your local supervisory authority.
9. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures such as encrypted transport, access controls, row-level database security and optional two-factor authentication. No online service can be guaranteed fully secure.
10. Children
Wuzzr is not directed to children under the applicable minimum age. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date.
